In Spring of 2016, Thomas Construction started their Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement Division, as a sub-division within the Heavy/Highway Division of the company, becoming PennDOT prequalified to construct bridges. Between 2016 and 2018, Thomas Construction was awarded as the Subcontractor on 12 (P3) Rapid Bridge Replacement Projects. The PA Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a PennDOT initiative to replace 558 aging bridges throughout Pennsylvania in order to provide motorists with new, modern structures and allow PennDOT to remove them from their structurally deficient list.

• Construction schedules: ranging from one month to two years to complete, depending on scope of work and required contract schedule provided
• Thomas Construction completed the first rapid bridge replacement project in August 2016 and the final rapid bridge replacement project in September 2018
